Knitters & Stitchers Drop-In

- First Parishioners and friends gather at noon in the parlor most Mondays for conversation and creative handwork, including the knitting of prayer shawls given to others in times of stress that they may be surrounded by the love of God and of First Parish. They also create many items for children in need.

- The format begins with a quick lesson or "thought of the day" at 8:30am, followed by silent meditation, with guidance and instruction as well as time without words. The group meditation ends at 9:15 am for those who need to leave, and is followed by an informal time for Q&A and discussion. Led by Chris Scheller.

Forum on "Families and Technology"
Mark Kline, PsyD, Clinical Director of the Human Relations Service, Inc.

- Technology is an important part of our lives but how do we balance it within family life?
- In addition to leadership at HRS and clinical work, Dr. Kline consults regularly to area schools and institutions, and speaks widely to parent and community groups, often about the impact of technology on families, parenting, and child development. He has a particular interest in video gaming, and wrote about gaming and mental health extensively for the online publication escapistmagazine.com and helped found takethis.org, a mental health resource for the video gaming community. Dr. Kline is the parent of three children, all no longer teenagers!
