Sustainable Weston Action Group (SWAG) Presentation   . . . Details
    7:00 PM, Parish Hall
-   First Parish will host Sustainable Weston Action Group (SWAG) for their update on the latest challenges and opportunities to create a greener and safer community in the region. Join us in the FPCW Parlor to learn about renewable energy initiatives and the need to upgrade our local natural gas pipe infrastructure. Did you know that: As of the end of 2017, National Grid identified more than 140 unrepaired "Grade 3" leaks in Weston (compared to much larger towns with lower number of leaks, e.g. Lexington's 133 and Wayland's 98). 60% of Weston's gas pipes are high-pressure pipes (60PSI), compared to Lawrence (0.5PSI). Some of Weston's pipes date from the 1920s, and more than half are made from either corroding cast iron or bare steel (the most prone to leaks).
